Breath of the Infinite uses text from The Mirror of the Sea written by the Polish-British writer Joseph Conrad. The book illustrates Conrad's own memories and impressions from his years as a mariner. He writes of the sea, the weather, and of the ships and shipmates he encountered on his journeys. He describes his thoughts and feelings, intense passion for the ocean and his love of adventure. This piece specifically explores Conrad's view of a ship's fragility when faced with the power of nature, where it is no match to the strength of the weather, wind and storms. A ship's spars and ropes spread out like the finest cobwebs against the invisible power of the air.
